Needed to get an inspection. The check engine light was on. After going to pep boys and a local auto shop, I was given the codes and to go to the dealer to reset the system. It took 4 days to get my car back if I don't include the weekend. I was told the brakes on the car would not pass inspection even though both of the other auto shops I went to said the brakes were worn but would last another 4 to 6 months. I did get them replaced because I had no choice to get the car to pass inspection but I am sure it wasn't needed. Each time I called for an update on Friday, Monday and Tuesday I was told the tech had the car on the road. It's hard to believe that was the case either. On Monday when I called at 11am I was told that the part came in and the car was being worked on and would be ready in the afternoon. When I called back at 3pm, the car was on the road again. Then I was told the car needed a cold start to reset 2 of the 6 sensors to pass inspection, while 4 were OK. So if a cold start was needed, why was I told the car would be ready that afternoon? I have now left work early 3 days and still don't have the car back. I asked if the car would be driven first thing Tuesday. I was told yes and I should be able to pick it up soon after. I called at 930am Tuesday, and of course, the car was driven by the tech even though first thing in the morning would be when you open at 8am. At this point I lost complete faith in what was happening and was cut off by Mark the unprofessional service person. He said he would forward me to Dave who didn't answer. I called back and asked for the service department, and they ignored my call and let it go to voice mail, which once again is very unprofessional to say the least. I called back and the operator, who was extremely nice nice tried to page Save who did not answer. She took my name to him and the head of the service department contact me. It took an hour, but Dave did call back to say the car had finally passed inspection. He could not answer why I had been given the run around for 4 days or why the brakes wouldn't pass inspection when 2 other completely different places were going to pass with them. I still never received a call from the head of the service department. But I'm not surprised since the bill was paid soon after that day when I got the car and any complaints are easy to ignore and not deal with. The 3 star review is more than generous for the service received. This is why I didn't go to a dealer in the first place, and why a bunch of people shook their heads when I told them the story of my car being held for 6 days. Each asked why did you take it to a dealer, they will overcharge and find things wrong. Sadly, that narrative came true when it didn't have to and it will be remembered when it comes time to get service again, buy another car, or recommend a shop to others that need either.
